My teaching style:

I enjoy exploring the subtle practices of yoga. I love and appreciate Asana, though I relish a long Pranayama and Meditation bliss out.

In terms of teaching, I look to what is happening around us (in nature – seasons, the sky, world events, time of day) and allow that to inform the practices I share with you on the mat. My intention for teaching is to help each person who practices with me to feel grounded and present in their body, to feel connected with their breath, and to trust the inner spark of brilliance within. I also love to weave in pranayama, mudra and mantra, and draw awareness to the subtle body as we move through the practice.

I enjoy teaching a strong and healthily challenging Asana – I believe in exploring our “edge” and this can (and will) look and feel different in every body. The peak or most advanced version of the pose may not be where you need to practice. I seek to provide accessible classes, with clear instructions, so that all who come to practice feel connected to their yoga and empowered by it (plus the occasional joke to keep things real!).

I deeply savour the privilege of guiding people through yin and meditation practices – an opportunity to dial down the nervous system from a state of responding, into a state of presence and being. In these classes, you can expect mindful movements linked with breath, and longer holds in poses to drop deep into yourself.

Beautiful, heartfelt and experienced teaching.
I love Kate’s presence, which is soothing and has a sense of stillness.
Kate brings an encouraging and nurturing quality to her classes.
